Bringing adventures to life

I’m a travel writer and filmmaker sharing journeys designed to make your heart sing – adventures that inspire ideas, spark curiosity and show how travel can enrich our lives.

I’ve just returned from an extraordinary experience in the Egyptian White Desert. I was invited to live with a Bedouin family in the oasis town of Farafra– who had seen my travels on Instagram.

I recently spent a week filming on Japan’s Kunisaki Peninsula observing Walk Japan’s community project—addressing the declining rural population by restoring land and buildings.

With the same company I’ve explored deep into the heart of Japan on the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage and the Kunisaki Yufuin trail.  

In Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka I discovered hidden gems away from the crowds — working alongside the expert team at Holiday Architects. Read more and see the videos here.

For lovers of sustainable no-flight travel, an adventure with Byway Travel saw me rail-hopping across Europe taking in Paris, Geneva, Milan, Lake Como, Chur and Bern, via the iconic Bernina Pass.

I recently returned to my radio roots on ABC Radio Sydney to reflect on how the city has changed since I lived there in 1991. You can read more in my piece for The Sydney Observer here.

In Taiwan I’ve explored wildlife and conservation projects with Kodama Travel and The Small Cruise Collection challenged me to change my perception of cruising with a trip around the Greek Islands.
