Gloucester History Festival
Mark returns to the Gloucester History Festival for his second appearance as a guest author. A book signing will follow the event.
From Cooper’s Hill cheese rolling to St Anthony’s Well, May Hill’s Morris dancing to Sabrina, Goddess of the Severn, Gloucestershire is a land of myth, legend and tradition. Writer, traveller and former BBC broadcaster Mark Cummings leads a joyful journey through the county’s strangest stories, ancient traditions and hidden places. Former Cotswold Life editor Candia McKormack, BBC West reporter Steve Knibbs and historian and broadcaster Janina Ramirez join the fun. Put your knowledge to the test at the end of the event for a chance to win a round of Double Gloucester cheese! Chaired by BBC broadcaster Vernon Harwood.
Guests are also invited to enjoy a complimentary glass of Gloucestershire cider in the courtyard from 30 minutes before the event.
